Hey guys, I've read through the post guidance and done everything as requested. Attached is my CBS folder zipped and I've run SURT and SFC scan.

I've been trying to install 3 updates through windows Update. I don't have automatic updates, I check and do them manually, always have. I've tried downloading and installing all three seperately from Microsoft, tried updating one by one, no luck in any order. They all fail after reboot with message "Failed to install, reverting." bla bla.

All three give me the error message 8007054F only.

I really hope you can give me some advice on this, one of the updates is a key Dx11 update that's stopping me playing games I've purchased.

Also noted is other updates are fine, even had a fresh one this morning and it installed without an issue, it's just these three specific ones and I'm stumped.

Updates are:
Important: kb2868626
Optional: kb2670838
kb2830477

Thanks in advance for any help.

PS: CBS folder had cab files within pushing it over the limit for upload, I've removed these and left the log files. Let me know if you need the untouched CBS folder and I will upload to dropbox for you.

You have some errors in the CBS background that I've never seen before - hopefully there will be some supporting information in the event logs.

Open Event Viewer
click on the Windows logs entry in the left pane to expand it.
Now click on the Application entry - wait while it loads.
Click on 'File' in the menu bar and select Save...
Save the file as Appevt.evtx
Repeat for the System log
then zip both, and upload them.

... actually, this may be one occasion where looking at the Updates event log may be worthwhile (I've never bothered looking before, so don't expect much from it!) - please use the same procedure for that.

Also, please upload the C:\Windows\windowsupdate.log file.

Thanks for a reply. I attached the events logs you asked for, and the windowsupdate, but I couldn't find the updates event log within event viewer. You might need to guide me to those! Sorry for the hassle.

Nah - spent a lot of the last few days in bed... still catching up :(

You have a lot of errors in both logs - and the WU error type is not one which is covered by any of the standard fixes.

I have a suspicion that whatever we do manage to fix manually, we'll find another layer of problems underneath it.

Your best option is probably a repair install.

See the instructions here - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html?ltr=R - and see whether you're up to it (it really is a lot easier than it looks!)
