Hi,

I've been having a issue with installing windows updates ever since i reinstalled in March, but i've ignored it up until now and i figured I'd try this forum for a solution.

Basically, I've run the System readiness tool, and the automatic troubleshooters and they say the problem is fixed, but whenever i try after they're done, i'm still getting the same error.

I'll upload the CheckSURfile, no errors when i ran SFC /scannow

Hope you can find a solution to this cause it's starting to annoy me :)

Thanks in advance, and shout if you need me to do anything else in prior for you to locate the error.

I've tried all sorts of fixit, automatic troubleshooter and all the other stuff microsoft has released to try to correct it, nothing have worked. I've tried with, and without Firewall which makes no difference at all.

Have you already updated to SP1? As this is a huge package about 2 Gb in total, and there are more other windows updates that has to be done after this is installed.

Hi, sorry no, i haven't because this is one of the updates it simply won't install. Tried to download it standalone aswell but i got an error

These are the 4 updates that won't go trough:

Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2817183)
Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2467023)
Windows 7 Service Pack 1 for x64-based Systems (KB976932)
Windows Internet Explorer 9 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems

I have tried them all on their own, and in any combination i can think of, nothing has helped.

Have a look at this page that explains several ways to solve windows update.
Troubleshoot problems installing Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2

If you have received a large number of files try to install a few at a time and continue with the others in the same way.
Or try to download the complete SP1 package from another pc burn it on a dvd disc and then install it on your pc.
It can also be that you lose internet connection for some reason if you are on wifi, use an ethernet cable to connect and continue the installation.

Yeah, sadly i've already tried all that probably several times and i've not gotten any closer, guess I'll just ignore the updates again.
