Hello

I have a problem with windows update service, when I try to run an update I get an 800F0900 error . I used SURT, sfc and sfcfix with no success. My system is Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I do not know if it should be a matter for a separate topic, but I can add that the current system I was able to restore to action today using a backup, because previously experienced various BSOD's (for ex. 0x3b, 0x18) - I tested the memory on using memtest (in accordance with the instructions ), I carried out many hours of load tests with prime95 and furmark on the second system (everything was working just fine), which happily work. Please tell me if I should write a separate topic about BSOD's?

Thank you in advance for any help!

PS. Sorry for my poor English.

I'll post a fix protocol for these later - then we'll work on any remaining ones.

Heh! - I'm having problems with a couple of the files, from one update.
I'll try and track it down over the weekend, but in the meantime I'll post a fix protocol for the rest a little later.

I got lucky and guessed right ;)

I've uploaded a file - kl5aa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder kl5aa in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be two folders inside it (Manifests, and Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder
C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

And the content of the manifests folder (.manifest files) into this folder:

C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

Great! - all errors in CheckSUR fixed - it's happy now ;)

If we're lucky this means that Windows Update should work - first do a new Check for Updates, and attempt to install ONLY the oldest update found.
If it fails, post the error message and KBnumber of the update.
