hello
I recently upgraded my net book pc to a ssd. when I tried to update it came up with this error message: windows update cannot update cannot update because it is not running . you may need to restart. after a day of trying to fix this I broke down and started to post this. as I went to get the error message so I could print it here it just loaded the page then became unresponsive. now it comes up with a error that reads: :{26EE0668-A00A-44D7-9371-BEB064C98683}\5\::{36EEF7DB-88AD-4E81-AD49-0E313F0C35F8} the remote procedure call failed and did not execute. I have tried almost every thing , I updated my Intel rapid storage drivers, turned bits and wueuserv on , checked to make Shure that all of that all the programs it depends on were on , used windows fixit, and attempted to update widows update agent only to receive error code 0x8000ffff , and yes I restarted the computer as well as windows update it self. please help . I need this computer by Wednesday. please please please help this is very frustrating
sincerely

We upgraded on a Gateway netbook and we are trying to restore using the recover disks. We did format the ssd using another machine. It does boot but programs like windows update wont run. What do you mean by prepare the ssd?
We have also tried windows service pack 1 updater but it "catastrophically failed" and we were to run the system file checker and got this View attachment 283236 I tried to upload the cbs log but access was denied. I hope this narrows down the problem.

Please download and save the CheckSUR tool from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821 (you'll need to look in the details for Windows 7, downloading from the Microsoft Download Center)
Run it - The tool can take anywhere from 5 mins to a couple of hours to run (or 'Install') depending on how much it has to do, and may exit silently - it may appear to freeze for most of that time, but be patient. The result is logged in the C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log file - and an archive …\checksur.persist.log file
Then zip the CheckSUR.log and upload it to your SkyDrive Public folder so I can take a look - post a link in your reply.
