Hi all,

I cannot get the Windows Service Pack 1 to install. Whenever I download it I get the following error:

REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG(0x80040154).

I've googled this and have tried downloading it with my firewall and MSE disabled. Anyone fancy having a crack at it?

I also ran Reimage, it came up with a few problems but I'm wary of these services which find faults and then charge to fix them - has anyone got any reviews on this?

either way - I've installed other updates with no hassle...so any ideas???

Hi Jacee,

The pop-up window says it's downloading and then, after a while (thus luring me into thinking it's working) I get a pop up saying that it's failed. The initial pop up says 'class not registered' but when I click on 'details' I get the more in depth message (as posted above).

I know that this update seems to have attracted a host of issues, other updates are fine to download and install.

Jacee,

Just checked out the link - to be honest my knowledge isn't thorough enough to know 100% whether I should use the hotfix. I requested the first hotfix listed but the email which resulted was quite stern in warning of its use if this isn't the problem. As such I wary of using it. Is service Pack 1 that useful??? Will I be missing out on much if I just leave it be??
