Hello,
First, excuse my english, I'm trying my best.

I get error C80003FA whenever I do a Windows Update run.

I did the Windows Update Posting instructions. When I did the SURT installation, it didn't finish and I had to reboot the PC. Then it work.

I've tried sfc /scannow several times before with different results: sometimes finished with no errors, sometimes finish with unfixable errors and sometimes didn't finish at all.

I uploaded the CBS.zip

Hope you can help me, thanks.

There are no errors in any of the posted logs :(
Please post the C:\WIndows\windowsupdate.log file.

Please also post the event logs...

Open Event Viewer
click on the Windows logs entry in the left pane to expand it.
Now click on the Application entry - wait while it loads.
Click on 'File' in the menu bar and select Save...

Save the file as Appevt.evtx

Repeat for the System log

then zip both, and upload them.

This may be the result of either corruption of the Software Distribution Folder, or faulty permissions (or both!)
Note: you will lose your Update history (but the updateswill still be installed, and viewable in the Installed Updates listing).

Open an Elevated Command Prompt

Run the following commands

NET STOP WUAUSERV
REN C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution SDOLD
NET START WUAUSERV

reboot

Then wait 10 minutes, and open Windows Updates, and run a Check for Updates.

Install only the oldest update found - and reboot once installed.

If it goes in OK, then go back to Windows updates and install the others.
If it fails, post the new Windowsupdate.log file.

I did as you told me, but it didn't work. It shows the same C80003FA error and says "Updates were installed: never". Here's my Windows Update log.
Thanks

OK, let's have a look at some permissions, then...

Open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following commands...

DIR C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution
ICACLS C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution
ICACLS C:\Windows

Post the results.

Here are some instructions to make lifeeasier :)

1) To open anElevated Command Prompt Window (the ECP window), click on Start, All Programs,Accessories – then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run asAdministrator. Accept the UAC prompt.

2) To run thecommands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on thehighlight – select Copy. In the CP Window, click on the black/white icon at topleft – select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the lastcommand, so hit the Enter Key once.

3) To copy theresults... click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit...'Select All', and hit the Enter key - then use Ctrl+V or r-click+Paste to pasteit into your response.

That all looks normal - I'll see if I can find another cause of this error, and get back to you.

Ok, thanks.

Edit: I look at the Appevt file and it shows several warnings (Id.399) and errors (Id.474) that has something to do with C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution. Maybe that's part of the problem?
