When I installed the MS Tuesday updates for Feb. I got error 0x800B0100 for kb2901112, kb2911501, and kb2843630. When the updates for March came out, they all installed but these three still got the same error. I have tried several 'fixes': reset the update history; rename SoftwareDistribution\Download; went back to a previous checkpoint; manually installed from MS downloads; run Windows Update Troubleshooter; run System Update Readiness Tool; run sfc.exe (per this site); uninstalled and reinstalled .net framework (two of the problem updates are for an older version, I have 4.5.1, they are for 3.5.1). Still the same problem.

Thanks for any help.

I've uploaded a file - aphaa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder aphaa in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be two folders inside it (Manifests, and Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder
C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

And the content of the manifests folder (.manifest files) into this folder:

C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

I did as you asked. Afterwards I checked for updates using Windows Update. It now shows the three original problem updates plus SUR kb947821. I did not attempt to install anything yet. Logs attached.

Code:

- all the Manifests were fixed, but none of the Packages.

Go for it! :)

DO a Check for Updates first, and then attempt the install of any found updates - if they fail, note the error shown, and post back with it.

With luck, the two failing updates will install if you use the offline installers..

Download the correct (x64) installers from here....
Download Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 from Official Microsoft Download Centre
and
Download Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 from Official Microsoft Download Centre

(I don't think it matters which order)

Save them - the run each by double-clicking on the saved file.

If either fail, note the error message.
Post back with details of the results.
