"Intel Driver Update for Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 100" failed to install. Have lost WiFi access on my laptop to my router. I restored my system to a previous 2 week period, but WiFi still not available. I ran 'sfc\verifyonly' and it said no corrupted files found. The CBS.zip file is attached.
Thanks for you help

Verifyonly often misses problems - I recommend against relying on it.

What's the exact make/model of your machine?

Please run a full CHKDSK and SFC scan....
Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right-click on the Command Prompt entry
Select Run as Administrator and accept the UAC prompt - the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up.
At the Command prompt, type
CHKDSK C: /R
and hit the Enter key.
You will be told that the drive is locked, and the CHKDSK will run at the next boot - hit the Y key, and then reboot.
The CHKDSK will take a few hours depending on the size of the drive, so be patient!
After the CHKDSK has run, Windows should boot normally (possibly after a second auto-reboot) - then run the SFC.

SFC -System File Checker - Instructions
Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right-click on the Command Prompt entry
Select Run as Administrator and accept the UAC prompt - the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up.
At the Command prompt, type
SFC /SCANNOW
and hit the Enter key
Wait for the scan to finish - make a note of any error messages - and then reboot.

Upload the CBS.log file (compressed, please!) to your reply

Hi Noel:

I got an email saying there was a response about my issue. There doesn't seem to be anything in the response. Am I missing something?

Thanks, Sasha100

Hi Noel:

Sorry for the delay, but this kind of stuff is all to me. The CBS.zip file and had a total of 47.1 MB. I opened it up and deleted all the older dated 'CbsPersist' files. That leaves me with 'CdsPersist_20150530071556.cab' file for a total of 12.4 MB. So I opened it up and all the text lines are dated 2015 05 30. Do you have any suggestions what I can delete inside this file to get it under 8 MB?

Sorry for all the bother.

Hi Noel:
Haven't heard from you yet. Does that mean you are busy or given up? I am at the stage now that I might as well re-load Win 7. I didn't really want to do that as I was going to do an upgrade to Win 10 in Sept. Please reply.

I'm having problems isolating these entries for possible replacement - there are none similar enough in any of the systems I've tried so far to be sure that I don't screw anything up.
I haven't given up yet, though!

Hi Noel:
Let me know if you feel the aggravation becomes more than a re-install.
