I've tried the MS Fix-it's, and I've tried what I've found in this forum, no luck. I zipped the CBS file, but can't figure out how to post it, and I have the screenshot of the update screen, but can't see where to upload it. ?

There are no significant errors in either CheckSUR or CBS.log - so the problem is more likely to be in the WINSOCK area than anything else.
What Anti-virus are you currently using?
What other Security software is installed?
What other AV software has EVER been installed??

Clean install of OS. I use MS Security Essentials.

Yeah, I tried every Fix-it I could find. I've been a Googling fool.
