Hello all,

I am new to the forums so just want to say a quick hello and please excuse my lack of prior involvement.

I have been having this 80073712 update error when trying to update windows. Two files in particular are failing to install: KB2446710 and KB2478662 which I assume are playing a part. I have tried to install these from Microsoft's website without any success.

I have attached the CBS file.

I would be extremely grateful if anybody could kindly provide me with some much needed assistance, it would be extremely appreciated.

CheckSUR appears to have crashed - without reporting what crashed it...

This appears to be the root problem...

I need to have a look at your COMPONENTS registry hive

Please copy the C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS file (no extension) to your desktop and then compress it - upload the compressed file to your favoured fileshare site (preferably Dropbox or OneDrive) and post a link.

Try this..
Open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following commands...

REG LOAD HKLM\COMPONENTS C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS
REG DELETE /v HKLM\COMPONENTS\StoreDirty

reboot and try SFC again.
