Hello,

I'm hoping this awesome community might help me fix some Windows Update Errors that have been plaguing me for several months. There are 5 updates which will never install, Error Code is 80073712. I've run the Update Readiness tool and sfc to no avail. My restart button has the little "Updates" icon overlay, though restarting never resolves anything and it always comes back afterwards.

Log files are included, although for now I have not included some .cab files which blew up the zip file out of proportions.

Thanks in advance and here's hoping!

I'll post a fix protocol when I can get to it! - looks like they all came from a single update anyhow.

I've uploaded a file - hjyaa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder hjyaa in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be two folders inside it (Manifests, and Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder
C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

And the content of the manifests folder (.manifest files) into this folder:

C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

Great! - the only errors in the SFC scan are these...

... One is fixed, seemingly, and according to MS, the other can be ignored.

Do a Check for Updates - attempt to install ONLY the oldest update found.
If it goes in OK, try the rest.
If it fails, post the C:Windows\windowsupdate.log file

I ran WU, 3 of 5 updates went through and 2 gave errors. However, after a restart WU detects no new updates available which is now as it should be.

I'm going to mark this as solved and thank you again for your swift and professional help!
