Windows update error 9C48, Internet Explorer update.

Hello. It all started couple of days ago when I wansn't able to start my Skype, because at the login window Skype uses Internet Explorer I've been trying couple of days to do something. At first I was getting internet explorer 10 update error, but somehow, magically, that update installed, but now!!! now it says that there's Internet explorer 9 update error! Please help, guys, really frustrated that I can't use skype, I really need it for my work. ty.

I've made logs with System Update Readiness Tool as suggested here http://www.sevenforums.com/windows-...4840-windows-update-posting-instructions.html, but when I try to attach it, it says

CBS.zip:
Your file of 10.84 MB bytes exceeds the forum's limit of 8.30 MB for this filetype.

What should I do? I've tried to zip CBS and to rar it, but the size is still bigger than allowed. HELP!

I'm thinking my CSB file is bigger than it has to be because I've been running this System Update Readiness Tool couple of times in last few days, maybe I should delete something out of there?

open you self the checksur.log in c:\windows\logs\cbs and you will see the problems that you have in your system cbs.log is clean of errors but checksur.log is full of errors in packages and manifest

before make a new restore point
then
go to c:\windows\servicing\packages and delete this 4 files

reboot
and try again to install IE9 and/or IE10 from windows update

Hello, thx for the help! I'm unable to see how can I uninstall IE9 in windows update, do you mean not windows update, but Installed programms in Windows Control panel? and there I can see Installed updates and uninstall some of them. I can only see IE10 there, no IE9. I uninstalled IE10 this way. Will try now, to install updates as you suggested. Fingers crossed

The CheckSUR results are false-positives present in every install of IE10.

I deleted two oldest CBS Persist files, here's the zip.

Ok, use restore point to before that you deleted these files, reboot ,then try this, Download Tweaking.com - Windows Repair 1.9.14
in step 5 (start repair) disable all and enable repair windows update and repair internet explorer and start.
When finish reboot and try again system update readiness tool and upload the checksur.log

Unfortunately you have over 500 errors in your registry
While not impossible to cure, it's likely an indicator of more severe corruption.

I can really only suggest a repair install as a solution.

Download the SP1 Refresh for your chosen language and edition from the links on these pages...

The other option is a clean install using your original media - back up all your data to external media first!

Noel, pls help, I can't do this as well. It says

Can I change language of my system to english somehow? so that will work?

I know of no safe download of UK win7 :'(
It sounds as if your only option is going to be a clean install - unless you can find an alternative.
