Like a few others I've seen on here having this problem I thought I would ask for some help!
Code 80073712. (KB2943357)
This update has been trying to install since August 2014 and I've tried many different methods and fixes but to no avail.
I've tried the SURT and SFC Scan as advised by other threads.
I've uploaded a file - gosaa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive Please download and save it. Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all… Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder gosaa in the same place. Open this folder - there should be two folders inside it (Manifests, and Packages)
Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages
And the content of the manifests folder (.manifest files) into this folder:
C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests
Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)
Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

It looks like CheckSUR is happy now
With any luck, this means that the problem is fixed.
Do a new Check for Updates, then attempt to install ONLY the oldest found update - what happens? If it installs OK, try installing the rest.

Amazing! Yep it's all good now.
When i shutdown my pc yesterday it automatically installed updates (about 21 new ones i guess) so i wasn't sure if that'd screw things up but they've all installed and windows update is now happy again.
Thanks so much for you help Noel, and for spending time to solve my problem. Fantastic job much appreciated!
