windows update failed KB3035490 & KB3023224

These 2 updates keep failing. I cannot uncheck them to try them manually. I ran the troubleshooter & the error messages were: "service registration is missing or corrupt" and "Windows update error 0x80070057 (2015-05-29-T-04_11_09P) which were not fixed. Microsoft have asked me to reset a registry key but I am not comfortable doing that as they say there are serious problems if even a slight mistake is made. Can you help another way - even of just deleting the updates?

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file

I had the same problem.
The "Microsoft .Net Framework Repair Tool" (NetFxRepairTool.exe) solved it in my case.
