Hi,

Have any of you experienced anything like this ? I have about 6 GB free hard disk memory, but most of my 512MB RAM is allocated (I don't know what that means, but know that I recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate when it is said to require more than 500MB RAM: I have the extra chips ready to load when I've got my notebook sorted). If I try to install say only 3 updates from Windows Update, it might install one, but not the others. Downloading is not a problem. If I go for installing 8 important updates, it'll get as far as the last one, then bomb out and declare them all as failures, even though 6 or 7 of them had apparently been installed. Separately, or not, Windows Word says it doesn't have the memory to save the document. I guess you'll tell me to install the extra RAM, but is there anything I could do to minimise "allocated RAM" ? There was something I read about page size....? Any advise would be welcome. Thanks,

Martin
