I've had issues for a while about certain updates failing when installing, usually with the error code 8007054F. I've basically been hiding the updates that have been failing but having come across this forum I thought I might see whether anyone here could help me out with my problem.
I've tried installing the SURT, running a SFC scan and then installing updates and I've still had the same issues. I also tried running tweaking.com's Windows repair program to see if that would help. I tried to install KB2973337, KB3003057 and KB2868725 one by one in the last day or so to create some log files to be analysed. I actually had to delete some of the archived logs in the CBS folder to create a reasonably sized zip file.
My impression is that if Windows needs to be rebooted to install an update, then that update will fail.
