Hello. 'tis I, Richard yet again with another issue. This time, however, is with a PC I have just recently installed Windows 7 64 Bit Home Premium on. My PC specs are listed below.

Gigabyte Mobo GA 890 GPA UD3H
8 Gigs of Corsair 1600MMX Ram (I have 2 sticks of 4 Gig RAM, even though stupid windows says I only have 4GB)
Sound Blaster VX Sound Card.
AMX Phenom II X6 1090T Processor (and no, I do not have access to another CPU).

I have just recently acquired this PC, and I am currently trying to use Windows Update. But Windows Update doesn't seem to want to do anything. It just sits there searching for updates without doing anything at all. It doesnt stop searching for them to give me an error. I have included the Logs folder in zip format in C:\Windows. I've already tried installing Updates that are supposedly a "hotfix" without success. Help is appreciated. I can't play games (I am a PC gamer nerd) without Windows Updates (especially Direct X and other ones).

Okay. I have a new problem now.

When I try and select updates to download, it just stays at 0%, doesnt download anything, and just sits there. Even if I do this with only a couple small updates! Help please!

Edit: Forget this crap. I'm done wasting my time on this, I'm formatting my machine. I'll let you know how it goes afterwords.

I'm trying to download Update at the present time and have the same problem.

It's probably Microsoft's Servers and bandwidth loaded up with a bunch of Windows 10 B/S

And I'm back at square one again. I let the Update program try and search for updates yet again...and it's stuck yet again at "never stops searching"...

Personally I'm just going to wait a few hours and try again.

Well it started working again. I'm logging off and get my updates.

Well it took a half hour but I got them all downloaded and installed.
Don't worry about the % moving because it don't.
Just let it run. Sooner or later it will pick things up.

Just watch the blinking light on your modem or router. All of a sudden it will start blinking very fast. Now you know things are starting to down load whether the % moves or not.

Yep yesterday was fun on a 32 bit laptop I have and was attempting load last Tuesdays patches
Figured it was high demand getting updates elsewhere...

Unhide all I had hidden and ran windows update cleanup/ sfc/.... switched settings around...

Never had any indication it was downloading anything matter of fact I restarted/ shut down removed battery and power drained the system

Then all of a sudden it showed the shied on the power button to shut down to install updates
I suppose I can thank myself for that I did switch the update setting :p
23 dates installing
26 Optional listed that didn't auto install thankfully :hot:

Very annoying day yesterday was :p

If I have any doubt about what's happening, I open Task Manager and check the Network usage and the running processes - it gives me the best idea of what's actually happening.
