Windows Update not working

Hi there

i have just performed a clean install of Windows 7 including SP1 on my Toshiba laptop.

Everything is running fine except Windows Update just hangs (checking for updates) as long as I am prepared to leave it.

If you leave it for 20+ hours, it should find the list of updates.

If you manually install KB3135445, then the search time should be reduced.

I have run the update as you suggested and it has solved the problem. I ran Windows Update afterwards and it found all the available updates fairly quickly.
