Hope you guys are having a good day.

Having a few issues with my computer at the moment. I previously had a different issue with Windows Update ( Error 80072efe ) but earlier today i managed to somehow fix it and was able to download Service Pack 1, which was what the error was on. All other updates before it (20) all installed successfully. Unfortunately shortly after doing so and restarting, Windows Update now continues to search for a very long time, it has been hours to no avail or progress whatsoever.

I have tried a SFC Scan which showed no issues.

System restoring to before the Service Pack update was normal, but eventually i had to download it again and the issue persisted.

I have used the Windows Update Troubleshooter and it has detected error 0x80070057, along with Service Registration is missing or Corrupt. Before the system restore it did not have the missing/corrupted Service Registration.

I have scanned for rootkits. (there is none to be found)

Another note is that ive had this computer for a long time now, although I have performed a low level format just yesterday so this computer isnt cluttered anymore.

Would a CBS log be handy at this point? Thanks if you can help!

Back with the CBS Log and an update.

After performing other possible fixes such as using cmd to stop windows update , BITS, and cryptographic services, renaming Catroot2 and Software distribution to .old, and then starting up the previous services, which didnt help, but for some reason changing the startup type of Windows Update service to Automatic and BITS to automatic, as soon as i shut down the computer it proceeded to install 199 updates.
After a very long time ( which i ended up falling asleep, apologies), and starting up the computer once more it appears that the Windows update issue still persists, and out of those 199 updates 94 of them failed. As well as the Startup types i changed earlier reverted back to their original spots, Automatic ( delayed) and Manual respectively.
Now the Windows Update troubleshooter tells me it has fixed the missing/corrupt Service registration, but now it shows Error 0x800F081F
Thanks if you can help once more.
