windows update stuck "Windows 10 update reserved"?

Have a Dell latitude 8630 where windows update is stuck (see attachment). I cant make it go away and updates are not happening.

I know the free w10 upgrade deal is closed now, any chance I could still do it now with an ISO? and not buy a license?

I have run MS update "fixit", took a couple of tries but BITS and "update" are okay, per the tool.

has anyone run into this and able to clear the issue?

Officially the free W10 upgrade has expired, however i have heard of people STILL being able to "upgrade" to it, likely why your getting the choice

You can try see if it does, if not you've not lost anything, as a WindowsOLD file is created and you can roll back.

The other option
How can I cancel my reservation? I don't want to upgrade to Windows 10 at all.
Open the Reservation app in the notification area (double click it)
Click the Hamburger menu in the upper left corner, then select View Confirmation.

Hello and thank you for your reply. My issue is not updating to W10 but rather the whole update process is stuck and will not do the normal W7 updates that are released every month. The Checking for updates just runs and runs and runs.. I have done the MS windows 7 update FIXIT twice and everything is cool there.

Hi Seneca,
The choice is yours
Take the upgrade then roll-back, (this will ensure you ge it free in the future)
OR
follow my instruction to delete the reservation, then try updating.
