Windows Update.

Hi all,

Has anyone had any problems with Windows 7 updates, I have noted that it is very adhoc? SOmetimes it works well and other times it just hangs the o/s - can not even get up task manager to kill it! Have to reboot....

Everything else works fine, this is just a royal pain in the ass. This is a clean install of windows 7 x64 ultimate as well. I have just installed office and thats about it.

Any idea's would help.

I can't say that I have here which won't be much help. Even when the first updates as well as test updates were out they always seem to go right on even after several installations of both the 32bit/64bit betas as well as the RCs here.

With XP and Vista I've run into a stubborn update or two that wouldn't go on the first time around while 7 has been doing great that way even when installed on a virtual machine! Sometimes if you don't hit the MS servers at just the right moment while there's a heavy volume of traffic that could be reason.
