Hello,

I have recently purchased a new windows machine, the ASUS UL30A. I was eligible for the upgrade program and will receive the Upgrade disc to the 32bit version of the equivalent Windows 7 OS. My question is, after upgrading to the Windows 7 32 bit Premium; if I were to again upgrade to the Windows 7 Pro. will there be an over the web upgrade? I was confused about what version I would be able to install since I would have already a 32 bit version, but I want to take advantage of the additional RAM offered by the 64 bit version. The microsoft store states that the upgrade disc includes both 32 and 64 bit versions of the Windows 7 Pro. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Well since you cannot do an in-place upgrade from 32 to 64-bit, you'll need to do a clean install (custom install).

All of my systems still run fastest on XP 32-bit for the most part. Win7 is fun to play with, but I still prefer XP for raw speed, security, and functionality.
