Hi

I tried resizing my C drive but got an error message. It said something about dynamic discs ??

after that when i tried to restart my hp laptop i got this error message:

The message on boot states "windows failed to load. A recent hardware or software change may be the cause."

The status is "Oxc000000f".

The description is "The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible"

what can i do to fix this problem? i am running check disc like the system suggested, but if it doesn't give me a solution will i need to re install or recover W7 with my back up discs or using HP's system recovery?
any help will be appreciated
thanks

How did you resize it, and did you defragg it first?

I tried resizing it using disk management-shriek volume - it created a new empty unallocated space. but i couldn't make that space active using the command
New Simple Volume - size- letter- i game the volume name and defined a quick format.

after i pressed next i received an error message about it being a dynamic disc?! I dont remember the exact words .

seeing as the new partition remained unallocated i just re-sized C to its full size. after that on start up my laptop
gave me the error msg.
what can i do about it?

I do have the back up discs i made thro HP software & with Microsoft recovery system. But I dont want to recover/go back to factory default unless there is no other way.

what is the best solution to this problem

Me too

Sorry to digg up an old thread but I NEED closure on this.
I have the same problem and can't find help anywhere.
What I did is move and win 7 partition to the start of the disk then expanded it with gparted, I know it was an irreversibly bad move. I used recovery to restore the boot manager entry, 7 boots then i get the same error as the OP.
All my partitions are logical as I not dare dabble in the arts of logical drives.
Surely an answer has been devised given a whole year.
Regards

If you have dynamic disks, have you thought of converting them to basic disks?
