You have a hardware problem. More then like the hard drive is failing, failed, or totally corrupted (but hard drives do not get totally corrupted without a hardware problem).

How old is your notebook? If it is more then 2 years old and depending on how you use it notebook hard drives can fail from excessive heat in that time period.

Keep working through the Troubleshooting steps in order, reporting back results of each.

Try going into Bios at boot and doing a memory check, I had a similar problem and found that one of the ram sticks had failed.

Good Luck

it looks like your PC crashed by AVG update. The technical fix is to rename all files in the \Windows\System32\Drivers folder that begin with "avg" to something else.

Use a free rescue CD to rename the AVG files

AVG offer a rescue CD that can do this as it includes Midnight Commander as a file management tool. Download it from here

Why is anyone still running AVG? There's never been a positive mention of it here since before Win7 release. It's been 6-8 years since it devolved to bloated crapware and never returned.

Run Microsoft Security Essentials with the Win7 Firewall kept updated automatically.
