I did a factory restore. HP g60 445Dx laptop. windows says its checking for updates but it never stops checking and never finds anything. I know there are updates. how come its not finding and downloading them?
any ideas whats going on and how to fix this? found some answers in a google search that never worked.

thanks for your advice. worked fine. I let it run overnight. eventually it worked and found and installed the updates. 207 of them to be exact.

That is Microsoft once again inflicting it's weight on Win 7 users. Win 8 won't be far behind. I'm seeing posts where people have had to let Windows Update run 24 to 48 hours before it finally started downloading updates.
