Solved windows wont find and download updates.

I did a factory restore. HP g60 445Dx laptop. windows says its checking for updates but it never stops checking and never finds anything. I know there are updates. how come its not finding and downloading them?

any ideas whats going on and how to fix this? found some answers in a google search that never worked.

Just wait. For some reason after Ten shipped, updates have been taking a very long time.

ok I'll try that. I'll let it run overnight if I have too.

It took me about an hour before it found updates the first time after reinstalling 7 to my laptop.

thanks for your advice. worked fine. I let it run overnight. eventually it worked and found and installed the updates. 207 of them to be exact.

That is Microsoft once again inflicting it's weight on Win 7 users. Win 8 won't be far behind. I'm seeing posts where people have had to let Windows Update run 24 to 48 hours before it finally started downloading updates.

I'm at 98 of 273 updates downloaded (987.87MB total) for Win 7 SP1 X64.
