I need some major help with this one please I can't get windows to reinstall
I changed the controllers to ahci (because i think the system isnt reconising my ssd as i only get a 5.9 experience score with it) in regedit which seemed to work then changed ahci in bios then windows won't boot , I've tried to run my genuine windows disk to reinstall windows but it won't get past about 20% then I get 'windows cannot install required files, the file does not exist, make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation, error code 0x80070002
hope someone can shed some light on this for me as it's sending me crazy

When you change to AHCI after a previous install, there can be major problems. Try switching the bios back to your previous setting & see if it will boot.

Hello fruitbat, welcome to Seven Forums!

If you're going to do a clean install set the it to AHCI and boot the Windows 7 installation DVD to do the wipe to the SSD suggested here first then the install should proceed without issue and be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.

HD would need to be seen in BIOS to run maker's diagnostics/repair CD scan.

Try swapping out the cables.

Check for newer BIOS version update on Support Downloads webpage for your model mobo. Reflashing the BIOS may solve these problems of sluggish boot screen and SSD not registering if you have reset the CMOS to no avail.

that sounds like a good idea Greg thanks
