I have Win7 Pro 64 bit and the Windows update keeps failing to install one important update.
The update is:
2017-09 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB4038777)
The update fails when I initiate the update, and it also tries (but fails) to update on shutdown. The error code is: 80073701
I have followed all of the suggestions found here and elsewhere on the internet, but still no go.
The CheckSUR.log and CheckSUR.persist.log files may explain what the problem is, but I don't know what to do with the info.
Would someone please take a look at the log files (attached) and tell me what it means?
