Windows wouldn't start, fixed, now no internet

Hi All,
Have an Acer laptop running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. Dual boot with Ubuntu. One day, Windows wouldn't start. Started Ubuntu, ran ClamAV, found 569 threats, deleted same. Now, Windows starts, but no internet or network at all. Plus, even though shortcuts and links still exist, programs can't run - get various error messages saying that the image cannot be displayed, or the file is missing.

Evidently, I deleted stuff I need to replace. The laptop came with no system install disk, so I can't just reload the missing files. What now?

You should always have the discs to be able to repair the OS, no matter what the laptop shipped with. Download the proper one that matches your language, version, and platform. Then once burned, insert the disc in Windows, and run sfc /SCANNOW from an admin prompt.

What do you see in your Network and Sharing center. Post a picture if possible.

569 threats is a unreal number. I would think that your computer still might not be clean. If one or more of those threats were a rootkit you just might have to do a clean install.
If it was my computer I would run Windows Defender Off Line to check again.
