64-bit does use slightly more resources than x86 to start out with, so for you, the answer could be yes. There is no advantage to using x64 unless you have 4+GB of RAM.

With only 2GB, you might as well use x86, and enjoy the extra compatibility.

Yes, it may not perform as well in certain functions as it would with more RAM, but my secondary rig only has 2GBs installed, and I haven't run into any problems yet.
