Hey,

I just inserted my Windows XP installation disc, and when the installation windows appears, it says:"Welcome to Microsoft Windows XP. What do you want to do?"
And the first option is:"Install windows xp."
I wan't to press it, but it's grey, and it won't allow me. Why?
Thanks

Hello.

That is because you are running the Windows XP installer from the Windows desktop and you need to boot the XP installer but if your PC BIOS is set to AHCI mode you will need to slip the those drivers into the XP installer to get the install to complete successfully.

Enter BIOS setup to reset to defaults, while there set SATA controller to IDE mode.

If it bluescreens when booting the CD you need to slipstream the AHCI or IDE SATA controller drivers in.
