I am running Windows 7 with Windows XP mode behind it:
1. Do I have to run a separate virus program for the XP mode?
2. If not, how can I get the Security Shield turned off. I went to the page that says don't alert. It still keeps coming up every couple of minutes saying I need to activate and taking me to a web sight to pay money. I thought The Windows security pack was free with the program?
Thanks in advance for the help.

msgmit4, welcome to the windows 7 forums.

You evidently did not install an anti-virus in your windows xp Virtual machine.

I highly recommend that you load and run malwarebytes anti-virus and do a complete deep scan after updating the program.

You could run xp in safe mode after downloading malwarebytes.

Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware, anti-virus and spyware removal download

Yes you always need an anti-virus on Virtual Machines if they access the internet.

Thanks for the information. I was told that I didn't need to run a virus protection on the virtual machine when I loaded it on top on Windows 7. Guess I do. Will take your advise. Again, many thanks
