I understand that windows zp is still being used.
I as of yesterday was using Windows 7. No more, I can't access the Internet.
Is it true that XP can no longer use the internet????
I don't like windows 10 and I don't like companies cramming oses that I don't want down
my throat.
My learning curve is gong to be enormous!!!!!
Are these statements true? If so they are probably going to happen again....
This is coming from my wife's computer on Linux. My computer is in the shop
and the cost will be more than I want to pay.

Your opinions would be more appreciated.

Hi phenix,

I as of yesterday was using Windows 7. No more, I can't access the Internet.

You should have posted your problem here first before you took the computer into the shop because we could have probably helped you!

[1] What exactly is the problem and when did it start?
[2] Did you install any new hardware, software or updates prior to this happening?
[3] Did you have any restore points prior to this happening that you could have tried?
[4] Before this started happening did you have any freezing or BSOD’s?

Just a few suggestions.

If you are on an xp machine and using an internet browser from 2008 then yes, the internet may not be very usable, but it just means you need to update your browser is all.

XP certainly can access the Internet. As can Windows 2000, Windows 98, and Windows 95. And I am sure even older systems can as well. I was able to access the Internet with XP and Windows 2000 on virtual machines before posting this. Whether you should be accessing the Internet with an unsupported OS is another matter.

It's already to late. The computer is being converted to the Windows 10 mess..
I was looking for a less invasive browser than Google Chrome when the problem
appeared. I tried several browsers and didn't care for any of them. I have no
idea what caused the sound failure. On wiffies computer the internet is working
and there is sound.
Thanks for your replies.

From Win XP to Win 10?
If the computer was designed for XP, I wish you good luck. You're going to need it.

I have no idea what caused the sound failure...
... neither do I, but no way was it the operating system's fault. Why not just reload Win7?

A PC designed for XP may not have the capability to run Windows 10..
I don't think it's even worth the effort to try...
