Hi,
So I have 2x installations of Windows 7 and I want remove other.

Case is--I had problems with my original WIN7 installation and thought that I have to install new copy of WIN7.

I installed new copy of WIN7 to partition "D:\"(random).

But after all my original WIN7 installation in partition "C:\"(WIN) started to work.

So I guess situation is clear. And what I want to do is to remove this windows installation from partition "D:\"--that's easy, I know.

But problem is that I have files there and I don't have any space to move them temporiraly somewhere.

So I can't format this partition and can't move files anywhere.

What should I do? Thanks already :)

Welcome to the Seven Forums! dessire You're in kind of a predictament no less.

When you are not able to move files from one drive to another then you have to start looking at alternatives like removable media if you are not able to redownload the same files later following a wipe of a drive.

One fast option would be shrinking the D volume down enough to create a second small partition at the back end of the drive for safe keeping what you are not able to burn to disk, copy to flash drives, or download again. Once you have them backed up you will then be able to reformat D and move them back there.

If goes well you will be able to delete the temp partition and expand D back to where it had been. Note that other options for backing everything up would be advised first however since partition changes can see mishaps at times too.

Once you are all set and have the second drive available again since 7 seems to be running well again on C you may want to grab a full system image you can store on the D drive in case of any other Windows related problems. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/663-backup-complete-computer-create-image-backup.html

The alternative besides a full system image would be the Windows Easy Transfer tool. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/11470-windows-easy-transfer-transfer-computers.html?filter[2]=Backup Restore

If you find Windows needs a fresh install at some point and wipe C you can that to restore files and settings for Windows and the programs you need to reinstall again.
