Solved Windows7 Pro 64 bit

Guys I really need help. I've lost my OS due to virus and format and have had nothing but issues trying to get 7 pro. Sometimes it installs some times it does not. Sometimes it installs and updates screw up and blue blank black screen (from scratch) Sometimes it installs and has several windows update errors. Sometimes it installs and forgets boot mgr. I've tried to repair 3 times still nothing then i get kernal error. I'm lost uterly lost. I'm so used to xp reinstalls i have never seen a OS that doesn't install properly the first time let alone the 14th time. My mother board has UEFI ability and i have tried to install in both GPT and mbr format
GPT worked for a bit but crashed again with similar errors (when i started). Display driver fail and other update fails such as i can never seem to back up or image my os at clean install. is there some sort of trick other then clean, select partition type, create part primary align=4096, active, format quick fs = ntfs (on hdd caviar black 500g 6g sata) or clean, convert to gpt. yadda yadda yadda. It doesnt matter what i do this OS some how messes up the installation from the get go which hinders everything i do thereafter.

Can someone point me in the right direction. I'm assuiming my spec info has been posted... ?

Have you downloaded the motherboard drivers from Asus, then installed them immediately after installing Windows?

Since you had a virus, how did you prepare the drive before installing Windows?

check boot sector with virus scan. delete partition completely on xp machine then went into win 7 proceedure outlined on Sean's Windows 7 Install & Optimization Guide for SSDs & HDDs

I followed both formats to the letter but have had no success. I've copied the update drivers and bios to a separate HDD when i activate (as updating prior to activation cause genuwine windows 7 issues)

right the issue is i cant install windows period. i get to completeing installation but something messes up and i dont even get to my product key now

First, disconnect all drives except for the drive you are using for the OS.

I'd boot the Windows 7 media, then jump to a dos prompt and do a clean action on the drive. This will remove all partitions on that drive and prepare it for the OS. You can follow these instructions to get to the command prompt:

Once that's done, type 'diskpart'. Then, type 'list disk;. Find your drive, then type 'select disk x', where x is the number of the drive. Next, type 'clean'. After that's done, type 'create partition primary'. Next, type 'format fs=ntfs quick'. When that's done, type 'active'. When that's done, type 'exit' to return to the command prompt. Type 'exit' again and your computer will reboot. Start the install process again, and hopefully this time your drive will be good to go.

Where did you get Win7? Did you burn the DVD yourself?

Next reset BIOS to default: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS. While in BIOS setup set SATA controller to AHCI to try install. Remove EFI Boot disk from BIOS boot order.

Boot the installer, at first screen press Shift + F10 to open Command Box, then run Diskpart Clean Command to wipe the HD before install.

Close Command Box, click Install Now, follow these steps to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which are the same for retail.

If install fails again post back exact step and any verbatim error message: Clean Install Windows 7.

All other drives are disconnected (except for the DVD rom, if you are installing from a disc)?

i was going to attempt to restore oringal bios. See if this assists in the restoration of MBR format (which is what i assumed technologically would be the proper format for now)

yes i even made sure in the uefi bios that the DVD wasn't booting in uefi

Are you referring to all of the steps in my post? Please be specific because after those steps are tried there will be others based on the results.

Windows 7 pro is OEM (not to be sold without MOBO)

Download the latest official ISO with SP1 from Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 to burn to DVD or write to flash stick with tool provided. This will rule out the installer since it is a possible cause.

ive just deleted the partition under win 7 and will try the shift f10 again (prior to entering into an prompts.

OK you can check that off the list.

Now why can the BIOS not be reset to defaults? You need to do that then check SATA controller setting and remove EFI boot from Boot order.

Then boot the confirmed installer to Custom install to partition you made.

and yes select disk 0 ( forgot sorry and yes its the only perifial hooked up to my machine other than mouse and keyboard. (no extra HDDS etc etc..)

yes i made sure UEFI is removed (otherwise i get GPT requests )
