Assume I open WinExplorer and click on the CD-ROM/DVD drive letter E:
The whole DVD content is shown. Fine.

Now I eject the DVD by opening the tray.
As a result the whole WinExplorer collapses and auto-closes itself.
UI guess because drive is automatically removed then a drive is empty.

How can I prevent this auto-closing resp. show the drive letter even if the drive is empty?

Your effectively removing a drive so when you press the eject it will close IE as the drive is not there. I tried it and it does the same.
