I saw this over on Wilders, and I admit I am very impressed and tempted with that price!

Does anyone have any experience with WinPatrol they can share, particularly on x64 based Win 7 machines? Is this software good for malware prevention? Or is it just there to alert you once an infection has already occured? I'm not entirely sure what it does beyond monitoring for changes, and am not sure if it actually blocks those changes effectively.

Carbonyl, I've used WinPatrol since Windows 95 and wouldn't be without it. It works great on 64-bit Windows 7. WinPatrol is a system monitor. For example, if something attempts to change your Windows Update settings, WinPatrol will notify you. Read about some of the features here: WinPatrol Features

I just loaded WinPatrol and am liking it so far. Kind of interesting and something I didn't know, looks like there are two registry entries for just about everything loading at startup time on my system. I have read this has to do with 64-bit systems and that Windows will only load one instance of the service, but it still seems strange. Not much info on this out there either from what I can tell. Anyone with anymore information on this?

As explained on MSDN at 32-bit and 64-bit Application Data in the Registry (Windows):

On 64-bit Windows, portions of the registry entries are stored separately for 32-bit application and 64-bit applications and mapped into separate logical registry views using the registry redirector and registry reflection, because the 64-bit version of an application may use different registry keys and values than the 32-bit version. There are also shared registry keys that are not redirected or reflected.
The parent of each 64-bit registry node is the Image-Specific Node or ISN. The registry redirector transparently directs an application's registry access to the appropriate ISN subnode. Redirection subnodes in the registry tree are created automatically by the WOW64 component using the name Wow6432Node. As a result, it is essential not to name any registry key you create Wow6432Node.
The KEY_WOW64_64KEY and KEY_WOW64_32KEY flags enable explicit access to the 64-bit registry view and the 32-bit view, respectively. For more information, see Accessing an Alternate Registry View.
