May we get some more information on your system, is it a desktop or a laptop hard drive you're trying to reformat.
If it is a desktop hard drive that did not come with a recovery partition, you will need to obtain the cd legally. We can't help you obtain them any other way.

If it`s a factory install, watch the screen when you turn on the PC, it will show you which key to push to start the recovery process.
