Right click on the wireless adapter and go to properties.
Look for a kaspersky or aod protocol and disable them.
restart the computer and it should work.
Thanks

Oh joy, yet another anti virus causing problems again. The Op might have considered mentioning the A/V installed in the first post because this problem would have been solved long ago if he mentioned that. That particular problem has been with Kapersky for a long long time now. Thanks for reporting in chewy.

Kaspersky Rocks!

I know antivirus packages can be a pain - but the correct thing to do here is - in Kaspersky click on - settings -firewall - setttings and then your add the network adapter you are using as trusted -Done! (make sure here that your network adapter is set to LOCAL).

Hope this helps!
(P.S. repair Kaspersky first before doing the above if you disabled NDIS)

I too had this problem with both a new Dell and a MacBook Pro with ZoneAlarm installed. After reading this thread I uninstalled ZoneAlarm, restarted, the wireless device was enabled, and reinstalled ZoneAlarm...all is well. What a relief.

Just want to say thanks. I had the same problem and I thought it was my built-in wireless network card which is at fault (even went out to buy a new one). Lesson of the day: Install your network drivers first before you install zone alarm...
