Our 2 new Lenovo laptops, running Windows 7 x64 Home, are unable to see the shared folders on Windows XP desktop via wireless. I'm able to connect to the internet fine, and see the two laptops on the network. But no show on the XP computer and shared folders.

Here's the kicker. I go to disable the wireless, and connect the laptops via ethernet cable to the router, everything works. The shared folders on XP appears just fine on the laptops. I can access it and print to the network printer like I've been wanting. Would love to have this work on wireless. What gives? What am I missing?

Note: Firewall turned off.

I'd greatly appreciate any help at all.

Let me make sure I am understanding... you dont change anything except plug the formally wireless laptop into a cable and presto magically the shared folders show up???

Exactly Darryl. I'm trying to narrow it down, but something is telling me that it could be the verizon modem/router. Why... because the HP laser printer is connected via ethernet (with its own IP) and I can print to it just fine when the laptop is connectd via ethernet.

So in theory, if I can get the printer to works on wireless then the folders too should show up.

Just a thought... is the router dealing an IP in the same range as when wired???

To check enter a command prompt and type: IPCONFIG/ALL

Try this after a reboot when wireless, then reboot and try wired only... compare the results or post them here.

Will do that Darryl. I'll provide you with the results Friday since I'm not at the location.

Thanks for getting back to me.
