Hi,

I am trying to connect to my new 20mb broadband connection wirelessly through a Sony Vaio thats roughly a year old with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit installed. I can see the wireless network and connect and it shows full white bars (I assume that means full strength connection) but whenever I open my browser and try to access a website it cannot display it.

I also have a Mac laptop and that can use the wireless with no problems so I know it's not a router/modem issue. I have a 2-in-1 hub so I cannot update the router firmware but it should be the latest as my ISP updates it remotely.

I have tried installing the latest drivers for my intel wifi adapter but that didnt solve the issue.

When I go to the status of the wireless connection it shows it as connected and sending bytes back and forward.

Anything else I can try?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Where would that option be?

Some more info if it's helpful: I can connect fine through a wired connection and it connects fine to a different broadband connection at a friends house (I think their router is a wireless G and mine is an N and im also using WPA2 AES security and I think my friend uses WPA but I dont have that option on my router) but I assume that since it can connect that security and wireless N isnt the problem?

The connection isnt wired into 1 computer, it is a 2-in-1 modem and router hub and we have 2 laptops that connect to it.

Yes connecting it through a wireless router.

I dont believe there is any problem with the router as my Macbook Pro can connect wirelessly through it with no problems.

The Sony can connect to my friends wireless internet also without problem.

is the win7 box getting a 169.xxx.xxx.xxx ip address? which says the dhcp is having problems. Maybe its a gateway issue?
