Hi guys,

I had a new modem/router put in my home yesterday from our broadband provider however since having it I've had nothing but issues. Our previous router never caused any issues despite being old. This is wireless btw.

There have been countless problems, I'll list them below so its easier for you to read.

1. Keeps disconnecting.
2. Alot of the time when the adapter is connected to the router it says 'no internet access'
3. unknown network symbol.
4. Only usually connects late at night or specific times of the day
5. Sometimes if can't even pick up the router!

6. troubleshoot messages have ranged from:

-wireless doesnt have a valid IP configuration

-problem with wireless adapter or access point

-the default gateway is not available

I'm really getting sick and tired of this and I feel powerless because I house share with people and there all enjoying there super fast broadband with no problems.

I have windows 7 64-bit if that helps?

Thanks to anyone who replies!

Sounds like your new router could be using a channel that's being heavily used already in your area. Connect to it via wire, log in to the administrative interface, and try changing the channel setting. This may require a bit of trial and error as wifi channel bands overlap each other and can interfere with each other. You can also try turning up the transmit power on the wireless radio, use WPA or WPA2 instead of WEP (if it is using WEP right now), turning off 802.11b support, and make sure (though this is unlikely) that it's operating strictly in 20MHz mode, not mixed or 40MHz mode.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately were not allowed to use Ethernet cables in our home, stupid landlord rules. So is there a fix to this ? I'm the only one in the house who seems to be suffering from it.

What is the signal strength you are seeing?

Can you post the ipconfig/all from this machine?
