Wireless Internet *groans*

I've scoured the internet and I haven't really found a definitive link. I'm currently running the windows 7 RC (build 7100) and I'm looking for a PCI 802.11g or 802.11n card that will run well (stable) under windows 7 x64 edition. I haven't seen a stickied thread anywhere or a tutorial and most of the networking hardware related websites don't have a peep about 7 except for those routers that were certified for windows 7.

To get to the point, please point me in the right direction. if you're running a wireless card under windows 7 x64, please post here and let me know what you did to get it working. I would gladly switch to the 32 bit edition but the free upgrade that gateway is shipping me is windows 7 home premium x64 and I don't have the cash to buy a 32 bit version as well.

Well I tried a DWA-552 dlink card. COULD NOT get it working. It would connect and then drop. It may have been a defective card, who knows. I also tried a WMP54g linksys card, it would connect and then my PC would freeze up.

I now have an old TEW-423PI trendnet card i found in my drawer. I had to install the Win XP x64 drivers. Finally got it working. I also disabled IPv6, and hard set my IP address info.

I hope i dont jynx myself. I did this this morning and it was working before i left for work. My luck ill get home and it wont be working.

I had problems with wifi as well, I ended spending a small fortune on wireless over LAN via POE interface and ah internet bliss. Now I use wifi but over a LAN interface. Google nanostation 2 - if you want to know more.

I've seen that before and it looks awesome. i've also seen other ethernet<->wireless bridges before as well as some kind of way you can use a router and DD-WRT or OpenWRT firmware to use it in some kind of client mode. please keep posting everyone on x64 and let me know what you've got going. the bridge idea seems like it's the most stable but the least expensive (working) version I can think of is about $50 and a ton of work :-(.

I guess the only downside of what I have is its not pure wifi - in the sense that you need to connect via LAN unless you do some insane networking.

I was using DWA 110A (D-Link) its a USB G Wireless adapter on RC with zero issues - it was plug and play, no drivers needed - but my wifi strength was too weak so I got the nano. You could update to Win 7 RTM.
