Wireless IP Configuration

https://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Details.aspx?type=Hardware&p=Buffalo%20Technology%20(USA)%20AirStation%20WHR-G54S%20802.11g%20Enhanced%20Wireless%20Router&v=Buffalo%20Technology%20(USA)&uid=WHR-G54S&pf=0&pi=4&c=Networking&sc=Wireless%20Routers&os=32-bit

If you have Windows 7 32-bit then it is saying that it is compatable.

I would definitly check what AEM has asked you... here is a resort you should try...

Open up your device manager. There may be something wrong with your drivers that are installed. How about we uninstall them without deleting them and have them reinstall. See if that will resolve the situation.

I am not going to insult your intelligence and baby you where half the stuff is in your computer...so if your having trouble just msg us back and i'll be more than happy to further explain.

But I thought if there's something wrong with the driver itself, there will be some notice inside the Device Manager. And isn't it only the Atheros Wireless driver that should have the problem. I downloaded the new one from Fujitsu website and install it, makes no difference too. I roll back, no difference too. =(

Anyway I myself admit that I'm kind of very lousy with this stuff, normally I don't deal with computer problems. Hah!

hondasd, you're a female. Admit it.

Wait a sec, has anyone mentioned some Atheros wireless card (the one in my eeepc anyway) does not support WPA?

Can you change the security from WPA to WEP?

if your a guy and that is your girlfriend in the photo.. Bravo!

Yeah that might work... Security settings... Why didn't i think of that first.

See you got me all distracted with the female thing.. and Watching Alien 3... Not a good combo to be working with computers at the same time.

Unless you are around alot of hackers, you shoulnd't have alot of issues.

Is there other alternatives? I don't wish to touch the router itself because it's not set up by me. And I still don't understand why would it be the router's problem when I didn't face any problem while I'm still on Vista and the problem surfaces in school too.

It seems to me that the problem is within laptop.

Did you uninstall the drivers and then reboot the compute to have the system reinstall th drivers?

that may do a fix for it.

Done that, didn't work.

Or maybe I reinstall the whole Windows 7? Is there a way that I can customize the Windows 7 installation such that the wireless adapter has no change? And how do I uninstall Windows 7?

You made me laugh when you said uninstall 7.

Hey by all means if you want to redo windows...thats cool with me..but one important factor.

back up all your importat informaion...

Stic the CD in the cd rom drive and boot from your bios for when you want to boot from CD don't start the cd within windows.

and you will want to do a custom install and you will want to format the hard drive.

do not do an upgrade. It will make it worse.

come back on here immediately and don't install anything just yet...
and dont let windows install anything, turn the automtic updates off too. I will show you how to properly fx your computer.

when you do the customer instal you are going to see a button that saids ADVANCE click on that and it will let you format.

Have we established whether the Atheros card is able to use WPA or not? mine was not able to.

If your machine cannot log onto the router's broadcasted network, you either need to change the security of your wireless network (through the router) or change the machine's security to match the network. This is to say you have a login issue to the network.

Idont kow what else to do . he doesn't wan to touch the routers configuration.... redoing the windows is not going to fix it. Well, it may make his system go faster but won't fix his connection.

Customer is always right...he needs to et into his router and reconifgure it using hardwire.

Oh, I reinstall the Windows 7 by inserting in the CD. Then chose the ADVANCED option. Somehow, my laptop hanged and everything is gone, my desktop is completely cleared.

BUT, I managed to get access to internet this time round. Oh man, I really have no idea what happened. But at least I'm glad everything is okay now. And I did backup my stuff. =)

Thanks for all your help. I appreciate it very much. =) Haha! This is funny.
