wireless NIC and tweaking them

Is there a way to increase the power to a wireless nic plus i have a WE800g ethernet bridge does anybody know if there is a way to get in to it to change mtu its basiclly a laptop wireless card on a board with a ethernet plug as you can see i have added external ants

The one option you may want to consider is using a separate larger antenna that looks a lot like the old stand up straight cb radio whip type you place on the floor. I've seen a few of those lately while looking around for a suitable replacement for the cable modem the ISP provided here.

The article there goes into adding one or more to the existing setup. One other option would be adding access points as another way to boost the signal. For large factory buildings that's a common practice to cover vast floor spaces when not being hard wired.

ok thank you my gateway laptop died so i took the antennas out cable and all and mounted them to the out side of the bridge i have been laid off so no money for new toys and i am connected to a neighbour (with permission)
