:DHI. im new in this forum,so lets get started! my brother as a Clasus Bravo s-100 laptop (wich i use more than him, cuz my suck) that came with win XP. Me and My father upgraded it to win 7 but the wireless seased to work! This computer has some buttons on the side, one wich i used to enable wireless, and a small message poped up saying that wireless was on.

However, since i got win 7, when i press the button Nothing happens! i tried to use the vista drivers, tried everything (compatibility mode, rebooting) but with no results. Gess that the butoon procedure is ruining it. Could anyone help me? Is there anyway to enable the wireless card by another way?

PS 1: Sorry my bad english, im portuguese.

PS 2: If anyone helps me, i would be very gratefull by a step-to-step give, as i am very noob in this area of pc's.

I imagine you will need to go to the laptop manufacturers website and find the drivers for your model, then search for the onboard wireless card drivers, it sounds like these are missing.

If you can find these drivers and install them then it should work fine again.

i though in that, but unfortunatly there are no drivers for win 7 in this pc, as it was made with win XP, and the model is old, CLasus doesnt supports it anymore

Hello Guto, welcome to Windows seven Forums.

It does look as though you are going to be out of luck on this one.

A search on Google is all I can suggest at the moment.

also did that, thanks for the try. Lots of ppl say that the solution is using Vista Drivers, but that doesnt works for me. The Crappy Button must be the responsible:mad:

Yeah I did have a quick look and only saw XP drivers.

Guess the only option is to buy a usb wireless that will come with software and use that instead.

Well it's definitly down to missing drivers for it, so you need to get some somehow otherwise it will not work.

Trouble is, like you say it's an old system where the manufacturer only supports xp , I assume you have tried installing the xp drivers seeing as you have nothing to lose?

Yes, indeed, i tried the XP drivers, but theres something wrong. i go to Device manager and unistall the Wireless drivers, and then try the XP drivers, but on the install shield it says that i got this product fully updated!

(If u could provide me with a download link for XP drivers i wouldbe gratefull, as i might have done the wrong download)

Firstly type this in start search "change device installation settings" and select never install driver software from windows update and save - uninstall the driver now and use comptibility mode with xp (if this doesnt work and it wont let you install the driver just try the .inf method) - Now go to the below page, which has detail instructions on how to locate and install a device driver using the .inf file method.

Simplified: try to install the xp driver by locating the.inf file after extracting all the files and folders from the executable - just right click it and select extract all.

Detailed instructions (works the same for windows 7): You cannot install a device driver by using its installation program in Windows Vista

If you would put up the name of your laptop eg Toshiba Satellite 100 i would be able to find the drivers or the network adapters name and help some more if necesssary.

hello, thanks for ur willingness to help, but there are some problems. Read the 1st Post, i already sayd the name of the laptop, its a Clasus Bravo S-100. And about the search bar, ill try it, but my OS id portuguese so its gonna be though. But if the objective is so that the pc doesnt update the drivers, ill just plug out the Internet Cable

EDIT: NO, no gold, the version of the driver 9.something doesnt works and the version 12. sumthing upon isntalling with and without the inf says that "Windows Determined that the most recent software is installed for this Device".

I gess that none of this works because that the Wireless must be turned on In a side button, anyway to do this by software?

Sorry I cant find anything - you might go into "device manager" - type in start search & select result - see if there are any yellow asterisks or red cross's against any hardware and take note of the devices) now scroll down to network adapters and select the problelmatic one, and note its name, and post back, or do a bing search, or both, and then i might be able to help find a driver - which will be difficult because of the location you come from - :(.

You might try this vista 64bit driver in compatibility mode first then the .inf if it doesnt work follow my way for compatibilty mode:

To install a driver in compatibility mode - right click the setup.exe file - click properties - click compatibility - check run in compatibility with vista - check run as administrator - leave the rest blank. Start setup.exe and install.
