Wireless routers fail?

My D-Link wireless routers has failed twice in the past week. Do these things die?

Like everything else, routers can become faulty and no longer work properly. Before we can say that for definite, can you elaborate on what you mean by fail? It could be a configuration error, which can be resolved by resetting the router to its factory condition and then reentering the settings as provided by your ISP.

My tech did reset it, but the next day, it crashed again.

Now looking for an inexpensive replacement.

You still aren't answering the question. A router doesn't "crash". Did it freeze up? Is it losing the configuration? Have you updated the internal software (firmware)? Are you running third party software?

It does not freeze. The remote computer does not show up. My tech did some testing. He found the router did show an IP. It is a cable setup and the cables do run under the carpet. He forgot his cable checker and will return to see if the cable is defective.

Ah, that's what I was hoping. I didn't want you to go buy a new router and then find the same issues.

Final solution. Turns out that what ever turned off the modem, fried the mb network card. Replaced the network card. Works fine.
