Wireless WPA-AES not connecting

I have a Dell Latitude D630 with Intel 4965AGN wireless card. My network is as follows:
Motorola DSL - Wireless not active
Linksys WRT54G running Tomato firmware (latest version) in AP mode, G Only, Channel 3 (no interference from other networks), WPA-Personal, AES.
Buffalo High Power G Ethernet Converter (WLI-TX4-G54HP)

Internet is delivered to the Motorola box which is only connected to the WRT54G - Tomato box. From there wireless to the rest of my house using multiple Buffalo converters. Everything works exceedingly well. I recently upgraded my Dev laptop to Win 7 x64, first RC and now RTM. The laptop can not connect to the wireless network. It can connect to a Linksys WNR3500 (stock) WPA2-Personal AES network with no problems.

It did work with Vista Ultimate x64. Stopped working with Win 7. Win 7 can see the network but can not connect to it. I have tried static ip, manually entering all network settings and everything else I can think of. Still no connection. Wired connection does work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Please allow me to welcome you to Windows Seven Forums! Glad your here! And thank you for filling in your systems specs, we really appreciate you for that.

Wow, doing everything you can think of may cover a lot of ground so forgive me if I suggest things you have already tried. For example some have had success with disabling IPV6?

Just to clear things up for me:
WRT54G with Tomato firmware - no wireless connection?
WNR3500 - wireless connection OK?
Wired connection? What router? OK?

I have a Latitude D505 and had no problem connecting, but I used the older WPA2-Personal. Have you tried the older "Personal" instead of the "AES"?

Others have had success with a clean re-install. It does not uncover the problem, but it does restore network/Internet access to the computer in question.

I have attached a pdf showing my network configuration. My intention is to replace the Linksys with the Buffalo. The wireless network for both the Linksys and the Buffalo are the same. I have disabled IPv6 on the wireless adapter of the laptop. I have tried WPA-Personal TKIP, AES and TKIP+AES settings on the Tomato router. It has connected to the DD-WRT router using the exact same wireless settings. This is a brand new install. Other than the Office 2007 Suite there is no other software installed on the machine. Updates are current as of 9/3/2009.

that is a nice layout of of your network topology...
have you tried the network troubleshooter?
it should tell you why its not able to connect....

if it comes up with something saying that the ip stack cannot bind with the network adapter then putting in a elevated command prompt

ipconfig /renew

that made it bind ip stack to my Wifi Adapter and consequently connect...:huh:

The laptop can connect to the Buffalo Router running DD-WRT wirelessly, but can not connect to the Linksys Router running Tomato. My intent is to replace the Linksys with the Buffalo. However, I would like to resolve this issue for future reference. It can connect to both networks via Ethernet. The wireless settings are as follows:

MAC filters are not used. Afterburner is enabled on both routers. The shared key is the same on both routers. I have verified that I am typing in the shared key correctly. I have disabled IPv6 on the laptop wireless. Basic networking does work fine, the laptop just will not connect to the Linksys running Tomato firmware.

The Linux and 2008 Server Core are Virtual machines. All machines have connectivity to the Internet. The Bufflao Wireless Ethernet Converters connect wirelessly to the Linksys box and provide an Ethernet connection to the servers and my desktop on a continual stable basis. Using the same wireless settings on my laptop, I am unable to connect to either wireless networkx or x2. The laptop can connect to other wireless networks. My goal is to switch over to the Buffalo Router with Tomato (VPN) Firmware. Previously I had the Buffalo router running DD-WRT firmware. I was able to connect wirelessly with this configuration. I do not like the administration of DD-WRT and would like to stay with Tomato. This setup has been stable and problem free for over a year. The only issue I have had with this setup is wireless from my laptop. I also have a Palm Treo 800w. This phone can connect wirelessly to both networks using WPA & WPA2 with AES settings. If anyone can be of assistance, I would greatly appreciate it.
