WLAN Won't Turn on!?

Hey,
Ive been having problems with my old computer. Im not sure of all its specs but its a Compaq Presario running Windows XP, and theres a button on the top of the computer that you press to turn WLAN on, but when i press it, nothing happens? It's been working fine since 2006, but now nothing works and i can no longer get on the internet. Any suggestions on how to manually turn it on or why its not working would be greatly appreciated.

This forum is for Win 7. However, I have an XP where I can change wifi and/or bluetooth in the bios. This maybe the first place for you to look.

For some reason my computers bios are very limited and only show specs and other information,But ill look again i guess.

I supposed the driver could have become corrupted. Check device manager and see if there's a warning.
