I can not open my windows live mail. I get the error message that calendar contains corrupt files. I cannot download fix it tools as recommended as the down load gets aborted. How can I get enough disc space to download tools to fix my computer? As you can tell I'm not sure what I'm doing, when I try to fix my problems. I've tried freeing up space and just seem to create more problems. Thank you for any help you can give me.

Hi sbyerb1144, welcome to the Forum.

How full is your HDD?. Have you tried running Windows Disc Clean Up?. Can you transfer some of your data files to a USB thumb drive, pick the large ones to get to get the most free space.

Windows needs at least 10% free HHD space to work properly. If you are running out of free space you could consider fitting another HDD & transferring your data files etc. to it. Alternatively, clone you existing HDD to a larger drive, a SSD would be a good way to go. Of course to clone your existing drive you will have to download & install a program such as Macrium Reflect, which means you will have to have enough free space on your existing drive to do that.

This Microsoft website might help you temporarily fix the WLM problem in the meantime.

low disc space

well I'm back where I was last week. Can't get to my email because of error reading 0x8E5E0211. When I try to hit tool repair my memory is to low to load. Took off some programs last week and was able to free up space, but this morning it shows its full again even though I have not added anything on my own. windows done an update over the weekend and now I'm back to the same problems. Please tell me how to uninstall programs and which programs that I don't need. I'm afraid of deleting something that will really fowl me up

We really can't tell you what programs to uninstall as we don't know what programs you have. To uninstall programs open Control Panel, then select Programs & Features. This will show a list of all programs that are installed. To uninstall one, Right Click on it & select Uninstall. When the uninstall process has finished be sure to reboot the computer.

Scroll through the installed programs while in Programs & Features, & uninstall ones that you no longer use or need. Do not uninstall any Microsoft or Windows programs.

It does seem that you will have to go for a larger Hard Drive as this problem will only get worse as the Hard Drive accumulates more data.

Hi sbyerb1144,

How do I load more hard drive?
What do you mean?

What you could do is to buy a bigger HDD and then clone your existing HDD to it.

Have you tried Ranger4's suggestion below?

To uninstall programs open Control Panel, then select Programs & Features. This will show a list of all programs that are installed. To uninstall one, Right Click on it & select Uninstall. When the uninstall process has finished be sure to reboot the computer.

Scroll through the installed programs while in Programs & Features, & uninstall ones that you no longer use or need. Do not uninstall any Microsoft or Windows programs.

I hope this helps!

If you feel you don't have the expertise to clone your existing Hard Drive to a larger one, you might be better off getting a professional computer shop to do the job for you. There should be a good reliable one in your area.

Unless you know how to clone the HDD to a larger HDD you may end up losing some of or all your data.
