WMC crashes when LG TV is switched to another input

I built an HTCP. Everything is working great, except...

If I switch my TV to another input (say to the PS3) and then back to the HTCP... WMC is waiting there for me with an error prompt which forces me to close WMC or restart it.

It wouldn't be so bad if that didn't mean that my paused (live) tv is now gone.

I don't have a video card, just running video off the i3 2100 chip. The PC is connected to the TV through HDMI as the only monitor.

thank you

I have a similar problem

Hi,

I've encountered a similar problem in that my Acer desktop PC which I'm using as an HTPC crashes when I switch between the two HDMI inputs on my Toshiba 32" LCD TV.

Note that when I switch to another non HDMI input on the TV e.g. Antenna or a composite input and back to the computer there's no problem.

What's changed is that I recently setup an Apple TV 3 on the second HDMI input and whenever I switch to that input it will cause my PC i.e. on the other HDMI input of the TV to crash. It seems that either the driver or the Windows OS doesn't like it when this happens.

I tried changing the resolution to match that being used by the ATV3 i.e. 1080p at 60 Hz but that didn't help.

Has anyone had a similar problem and if so how did you solve it?

Regards,
Charles
